Roknar Rye

As Benjamin Franklin put it, "He that can have patience can have what he will." Well, Mr. Franklin, what do you say? We've had the Roknar Minnesota Rye Whiskey on our to-taste list for months and could hardly wait to pour a dram. Far North Spirits was built on the fourth generation family farm of Michael Swanson and close enough to the Canadian border you can smell the maple syrup. This single estate rye whiskey was aged one year in 15-gallon charred oak barrels and finished in Cognac casks taking the edge of the traditional rye heat.

"Roknar marries aromas of brown sugar and cinnamon with vanilla bean, roasted almonds and freshly sawn oak." And if that's not enough to sway you, the name Roknar comes from the Scandinavian name that means Warrior from the gods in ancient Norse.
