This award-winning whiskey comes from our backyard here in Chicago, IL and championed the revitalization of the whiskey industry in a city known for its breweries and having not won a championship in 108 years. Koval invited us behind the scenes to see how they've created such an amazing product in just 8 years.

As you sit down with the three of these bottles you'll find a few similarities that will have you opening up a place for one of them in your collection. All of them are as smooth as can be with a lot of flavor, which comes from their high-quality distillation process (and a couple doctorates). They also are very proud of their organic grain-to-bottle process that allows them to source ingredients from local farmers making sure that only the best whiskey makes it into your glass.

Koval_Four Grain

Their Four Grain whiskey is aged in charred new oak barrels from Minnesota and bottled single barrel at 94 proof. "The four grains define its depth with a banana nose, creamy palate, and spicy finish. Only the “heart cut” of the distillate, no “heads” or “tails.” Grains sourced from a local organic farmer collective in the Midwest."

Koval_Rye

This single barrel rye is aged in new American oak barrels and bottled at 80 proof. Unlike many rye whiskies, this one has a "cleanliness" to it accompanied by a nice sweet spice. If you typically pass by the rye section at the store, stop next time you see this one. It will pleasantly surprise you.

Koval_Bourbon

Like the rye, their bourbon is bottled at 94 proof but comes in with a very different flavor palate. It has a sweetness to it that resembles mango and apricot with a touch of vanilla lingering around.
