Koval Rye

If you're familiar with rye whiskey you know that there can be a certain edge to it. After the prohibition, bartenders would usually cut it with something sweet to soften the spike and lessen the blow. The Koval Rye has no need for additives as it will be one of the smoothest whiskeys you'll ever put down. Enough so that if you're not much a fan of rye, this one might change that. It still carries the traditional rye characteristics (as it should) bringing a little spice to the palate.

As a part of their process for each whiskey, Koval only pulls the heart cut from the distillation process for aging purposes. We don't normally have a sample of whiskey from the same distillery all in one sitting but this month we couldn't help but sit down with Koval's award-winning lineup. You'll see similarities that we've grown to enjoy and differences that will have you gravitating towards one bottle over another.
